I'm in the process of installing a P1SC on my 2000 GT and was planning on ordering the TR6's when I came across the TR6ix's. I've heard that platinum and iridium are bad for boosted applications compared to copper but from searching, there's quite a few Cobras running the tr6ix with better drivability down low. Also not having to change the copper plugs often would be a plus.

Tr6 - $24 shipped
TR6ix - $55 shipped
I don't mind spending the extra $30 if they will work as good or better especially if they have a longer lifespan. If there's more probable issues with the iridium' then I'll just stick with the coppers

The car will be on 10# of boost and right 375-400rwhp hopefully. I'm not looking for anymore power on the stock block

Thanks for any input

Iridium is fine for boost. But don't run platinum. I've never run the iridium plugs. I've never had an issue with the TR6's so I didn't see a need to.

What's the typical replacement interval on the coppers. I've been seeing 3,000-10,000 miles.

What about for a 2008 Shelby GT500 with 2.6 upper and 10% overdrive pulley? She maxes out the stock boost gauge(15). Other mods are Kooks LT headers with cats, x-pipe, CAI and McLeod twin disc 1000 hp clutch. Car has 42K miles know. I've put 11K on her since I got her in April 2014.
