Like the title says I'm new to both my gt500/modular motors in general and I'm new to nitrous. I'm highly considering the ~$600 nex nitrous system. My current mods are cai, 3.73s, full exhaust. I'm picking up a 2.60 pulley next week and was thinking of spraying the car also. So my question is pros&cons of nitrous, what is the stock block good for 100,150,175 and has anyone else run this set up. Of course it will be tuned and the Albuquerque area has some of the best tuners in the nation IMO (motiva, dyno edge, solid tech). My plans were pick up the pulley, some lca and ucas (already have rear end clunk @ 20k mi) the nitrous and then have it all tuned with a multitude of tunes. A 91 all motor, a nitrous tune for a small shot, then a nitrous tune for a bigger shot. Please help I'm tired of being picked on by the cam+nitrous fbodies lol. And yes I know bigger blower blah blah blah I'm saving.for that and a fuel system but just for now I want a little more pep in my step.

I do not have 1st hand experience but be aware that nitrous hits harder than expected on a supercharged engine!! A 100 shot will generally yield closer to 130-150rwhp due to the added cooling effect of the nitrous charge.

From the tiny bit of research I've done that's what I've seen. And amazing torque gains also. Just trying to get peoples two cents on it before I pull the trigger is all.

You're going to want to be certain that your local tuners REALLY have knowledge of this motor. They don't like detonation AT ALL.

You can have a TVS on there with supporting mods and a 50 shot and see 9's.

Have fun and have your guys do their homework.

Good advice, I'm currently working on my nitrous install very slowly.I havebeengetting advice from top tuners as well as a few guys here that have or had nitrous. I never expected the amount of work nut in the end I will have a unique GT500 that might give me an edge. P.M. me if you have any questions about my build.
