Looks like you got yourself a badass gt500. Congrats. They look great sitting on the lawn side by side.

Thanks! Ill get some more pics of the ladies together soon I'm sure! My tire guy has my silver car held hostage currently (I'm trying to convince him to buy it) so I wont have it back for a bit. The leaves are changing up here, so Ill have some good opportunities to snap some good pictures.

This is so awesome! Glad to see it turned out so well! I agree the long gearing in these cars makes it a little hard to gauge how fast your going, 4th will go out to 170! don't ask me how I know lol

This is very deceiving!! A few friends have gotten rides, and most dont want to believe the speedo after a quick blast. I found out about the 170 thing last night, its freaky!

@Silver Talon Your body shop did a great job on the repairs! Mine will probably be going o my dealer groups body shop next spring.

Car is looking great, you're making Shelby owners every proud!

Thanks man! I'm glad most everyone is enjoying the adventure with me. I hate to see these cars continue to get parted out if they can be saved. And I'm very happy with the body work. The repair bill was even quite resonable too!

Bad ass... well done OP!

Thanks!!!!

Look's awesome and I love that color combo, What axle back does the car have on it?

Thank you! And the car has the Borla Atak's on it currently. I'm still not 100% sold on them though. They sound good from standing behind the car, but its soooo quiet inside it, that I struggle to love the sound. The car is so much more quiet than my V6, that its taking a bit to get used to. Im in love with the Stainless works full catted setup, but its quite a bit of coin right now, after all the cash spent on the rebuild.

BEAUTIFUL......You've done a GREAT JOB so far......it's NEVER OVER!!:D

I'm already looking forward to more mods! Wheels and tires, some suspension work, and some more powah!!! Thanks man!!!

Borla catback, very nice!
Amazing job rebuilding this car--I'm partial to a blue striped, Recaro, glass roof car. :)
As far as gearing, you'll be in love with 3.73-4.10s with these cars, especially if you're willing to run an R compound tire. A 305/35/20 Toyo R888R or Nitto NT555Rs are the best street traction selection.
If you're willing to run one of those 2 tires, and don't plan to go crazy on power mods, you'll love 4.10s.
If you stick to non-R compound but high performance summer rubber like your 315 Continentals, go 3.73.
And don't listen to GT guys, these '13-14 GT500s have uniquely geared trans ratios, I run 315/35/20s and cruise 80mph at 2000rpm. For a fun street ride, gears, tire, tune, MGW shifter are the only mods you'll need to compliment those Borlas.
Again, huge congrats on saving her!

The sterling and blue is a killer combo man! I love it! So i can see where you appreciate the white and blue ;-)

The carrier bearing are looking to be bad in this car, so the rear needs to be opened up on her anyway. I'd love some more gear, but the car does pull through the gears pretty hard as it is with the power. As with any gear change, you risk more noise and some headaches if things dont get setup back to normal. So I'm torn as to what to do. I have 0 need to do 200mph in this car, and as it stands, my local track is only an 1/8th mile anyway, i'm almost 3 hours from a 1/4 mile track.

Ill happily run a more aggressive tire, and plan on it with some new Shelby wheels on her. The Conti's were cheap and a quick fix to get me another month or so of driving before snow flys.

Tune, CAI are definitely on the list for her. I'm torn as to what else to do. I don't know how much more power I really need, as its pretty impressive as it sits. But there are few hellcats around that have already been calling me out, so I'd like to be able to hang with those guys. Plus some Dyno days that are fun to do, so to have some sharp numbers would be nice too. I really really really want to put some stainless works long tubes and high flows on her. The sound is killer, and the bonus to power and flow is attractive as well. I wonder if anyone has run borla's with the SW headers and X-pipe?

I'm just getting caught up from a busy week getting the car ready, to an 850 mile road trip with her from Maine to New York. So heres an update on the seats I haven't posted yet.

Stitching came back and was phenomenal!! Very impressed with how it looks, and how exact it matches the original stitching. The seats took quite a bit of work to get on, and on straight so that everything lines up straight.

The rear seat release was the hardest to get back to the original spot. I got one seat dead on eventually, and the other very very close. Surprisingly this was more rewarding to do than I expected it to be. It was a sweaty and tiring 3 hour process, but well worth the finished product. I'm sure the fact that this was the last part of the whole project was some of it, but I genuinely did enjoy doing the seats. Maybe I should get myself into doing this?

While I was tackling the seats, my step son detailed the car inside and out. It still needs a little more love here and there, but shes pretty great looking now.

Here is the car in front of the show room here at work, all done and through the shop. We swapped some fresh diff, tranny and coolant into her that day. She also got an oil change, a general shake down and check up, and some fresh plugs. Plugs looked great with 42k miles on them, so the engine has apparently been running happy and healthy.

Drove down to Cold Spring, New York this weekend for a wedding. The ride was great, and the car drove very well. The town was very pretty, and had quite a few nice cars there as well. I parked her on the corner of the main intersection for most of the time, so no one would tamper with her.

I played a little but with her on the way down, well, as much as my girlfriend would let me, and still managed almost 21mpg. We hit some grid lock in a few places, and took our time cruising around some of the sights too. All in all, a great 850 mile road trip with her.

Very cool!
I still taking my '04 Cobra with my future wife to a wedding in upstate NY. Great trip and great memory, you just nailed the resurrection of your Shelby. Hopefully you enjoy it for a very long time.
