to my surprise, the emblems are plastic. not metal like I thought.

It depends on what you care about. If you want to go to shows and talk about the special nature of having a Shelby vs any other mustang the 5.8 emblems will hurt that idea. If you don't care what the name is and just got it for the power then the 5.8's are kinda cool. Personally if I was wanting to street race a lot a stripe delete car with those emblems and the "SHELBY" taken off the rear would hurt feelings with out lying about your car lol

Technically not. Try replacing the 5.8 Liter block with a 5.0L bored out from the factory. Cannot.

Therefore different block.
