I got my chikenears new style “cool aid” system on Friday. It comes very well packaged in 2 boxes. Before beginning the install I had to remove my old cold air intake(JLP first generation system).

I drove my truck up on my Rhino ramps to do the scoop install. I removed the rubber air deflector that covers the bottom of the heat exchanger.

The install is very simple and straight forward, instructions are good and you only need a few tools. A 13mm wrench, a 13mm socket, a couple of extensions and a couple of screw drivers. I would recommend installing the aluminum tube before bolting the scoop on(the instructions say to do this BTW) also leave all the bracketry somewhat loose until everything is in place.

Overall quality of this kit is excellent and there is ample ground clearance. My bumper cover actually hangs down lower than the scoop because I removed the rubber air deflector.

I think that this air kit is well worth the money and is a very well thought out quality kit, a big 2 thumbs up to Tim and the Chikenears clan.

This kit has a very stealthy look to it and has a ton more ground clearance that my bold setup. Getem while you can.....:goodmod: :tu: :dw:

sweet man... how do u like the scoop?? i got the box, i just need the scoop!!

that scoop is very nicely built and matches the box perfectly. It tucks right up to the bottom of the bumper cover.
