32V 4.6 with the sought after Teksid casting block, forged
crank and twin runner 'B' heads mated to a smooth 5spd T45 transmission

longevity of this block??? while running 9lbs of boost

does it need forged internals to live?

What did it come out of, mileage and such? Plenty of guys running stock engines with that amount of boost.

I think it depends a lot on the tune. If you have an aggressive tune in there, your longevity will be way down. If you have a very conservative tune, it could last a long time. The pistons and rods will be your weak links.

If I were interested in that car, I'd get the details of the tune first. If I didn't trust the tune/tuner, I'd get it re-tuned.

Regardless of the tune, I'd add a meth kit due to running it at 8-9 PSI, and I'd get an IAT gauge so I could watch the IATs.

With my 6PSI setup, I run a PLX DM-200 OBD gauge set to watch IATs and ECTs. When the IATs get over about 225, I stop going WOT. MY tune is set up to retard timing at those temps, so my power falls off pretty fast anyway, and why risk it.

You'll be surprised at how easy it is to get to 225 or even 250 on a very warm to hot day.

Meth injection will go a long way towards cooling those IATs.
