Hi all, I'm on active duty in the military stationed in Guam. I'm planning on taking leave this summer to come home for a few weeks to spend time with my family, and I need to get my iPhone unlocked beforehand so I can use my old # and plan that's been frozen for the last year while I'm home. Fwiw it's a 64GB iPhone 5 with the most current version of iOS installed on it, and the name of the carrier is GTA.

My other option is to buy their stateside roaming plan and pay 10 cents a minute, text, and MB but I'm saving that as a last resort since I tend to use roughly 3GB of data a month.

If there is anyone on here who knows how to get an iPhone unlocked, or could point me in the direction of someone who knows what there doing that would be awesome.

Good to hear from you Bob and thanks for the link. Unfortunately the site that guy uses doesn't support my carrier in Guam so I'm still searching.

I had my phone legit unlocked from att when stationed overseas just by calling them. You can always go the route of doing it yourself too.

Best of luck man I lucked out T-Mobile has a global plan that I've used in most countries out here on this deployment. Hopefully you can get things going of not check T-Mobile. I pay $65 mth and its worked out here like I said as well as Germany and couple of countries I passed through. What's your Navy Rate anyways?

Darn. Sorry about that Joe. I was hoping your carrier was included. Be safe my friend. I see you're an MA2. How long have you been in the Navy? When did you move to MA?

Yeah the carrier has to unlock it. That is whichever carrier it was purchased from.

I've been an MA since the start, they opened up the rate to sailors below E-5 after 9/11 happened. And I've been in for 3.5 now (made it in 2.5).
