My brother and I went to the track on Saturday, so my dad decided to head up as well and see what is truck would run. The truck is a 2011 with the 3.5 Ecoboost engine.

The truck weighed in at 5870 lbs without driver and over 6000lbs with him in it, according to the scale at the track.

We were all expecting to see 15.9-16.1, but were shocked when it ran a 15.19 @ 90 mph!

Lol, my 1987 Trans Am GTA (350 TPI) ran the exact same numbers. If I had been door to door with a stock 4 door truck back then I'd have driven it into a tree.

Not just any stock 4-door truck, a King Ranch near-luxury truck with chrome wheels and a lid on the bed. Take the lid off and that GTA would have been SMOKED! :lol1:

Time for some mods if you ask me :-D

I hear they pick up big from just a tune alone, but it sounds like his biggest issues was traction, surprisingly. A tune that picks him up significant power/torque might just make it worse.

That is awesome! There are a number of "performance" sedans available today that run pretty much those same numbers. Very respectable for a heavy truck indeed. Wouldn't take much at all to get that bad boy into the 14s, even without a tune. Like an intake and exhaust upgrade. A tune would wake it up nicely, though, and shock a lot of newer "performance" sedans.
