Mustang driver got what he asked for, too bad the other mustang driver didn’t get the same. But he will likely get charged with homicide as he should. The only person who deserves to RIP is the driver of the SUV. **** the street racers.

Agreed. My ex got a DUI and do you know what her punishment was? Suspended license for 6 months and about a $500 fine, oh and AA classes. What a joke.
I was charged with an honest reckless driving (wrong way in a one way - I will not contest that in court again), and I ended up with a four year court battle (I was entertained, and determined not to have the ticket). I ended up with an astronomical citation fee, defensive driving course, forced to endure a MADD class, and of course points on my license. If I had just mailed the fine in I would have gotten out cheaper and much quicker. If you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.

I watched people get slammed with DUIs get less than I did.

While in the MADD class I met a young girl that was there because she was allegedly texting while driving. Because she was was under 18, she had all of the punishments I did and more. She also lost her license for a year.

Just texting and driving? I wish more were so harshly punished but I feel more to story.

You are as bad or worse than many drunks.

Your eyes can only focus on one focal plane at a time. Which means you are a danger to all those around you. Likely will not stop until you kill someone's child. The day that happens i hope it is yours and not someone else's child.

So beside using your peripheral to drive 4000 lbs at high speeds you are using you fine motor skills to input data. Your brain is basically being stressed tasking like this. Trust me, you are not any more capable than a monkey at this point.

The act of reading and responding has you overwhelmed. It is a matter of time before you become a statistic. My only hope is realize before it is too late that none of what you are doing is that important.

People like you are why we have to have stupid laws.

Good luck and please do not ruin someones life just because you, like drunks think they can drive. You can't.

Not really, do not make for me as much as you do not know me.

Think about your kids and family. If someone kills them doing what you do, would you just pat them in the back?

If you have a serious accident, would you be pissed for not just waiting a few minutes over a simple text?

It happens a lot. It should not but the addiction to devices is real.

Good luck.

Personally I think a DUI should get a minimum of 1 year probation and 6 months of no license no exceptions for the first offense. 2nd offense 1 year in jail and 5 years no license. After that 5 years in jail and lose your right to drive for the rest of their life, no exceptions. These are mandatory. If you kill someone while DUI mandatory 5 years and no license for the rest of your life period. The lack of real consequences are why there are repeat offenders.

While we are jacking this thread, and I am on a rant; my dad is a true substance abuse case. He is an alcoholic, and addicted to prescription drugs.

He got his first arrest and DUI at 61 years old. He was already diagnosed with cirrhosis. He backed into a car in the local police station, and then almost ran over an officer while he proceeded to drive down the sidewalk. He did manage to kill a sign.

The arresting officer is a good friend of mine. He called me to ask what he should do. My question back; "How would you treat any other DUI"?

My dad was arrested, truck impounded, fines administered. His court date was simple; he admitted guilty and owned it. He was given a lost of classes to take, fines, revoked license, etc. He also received a year of probation.

My dad never took any classes, and has yet to try to renew his license. He was caught again, and another officer I know let him go due to his previous and ongoing issue. Dear ol dad promptly crashed his truck on the way home.

He was caught a 3rd time and only charged with driving with a suspended license. Another probation, in another county.

He is still driving. Due to his state of health no one will arrest and keep him. He is more of an expense than a revenue.

I pray no one is ever injured or killed on my dad's behalf.

These dummies texting and driving even get mad when you honk for them to stop running you off the road or remind them to go on green.

This pisses me off to no end. They're speeding up, slowing back down, swerving out of their lane, and 10 times out of 10 they've got their face buried in their phone. Then they want to get all pissy when you honk at them and tell them to put the phone down and drive?

What is a MADD class?

Oh I see.

And yeah, I mentioned this in another thread recently but a few weeks ago I had a run in with someone messing with their phone while driving. From the short time I was behind them they could have caused several accidents. This guy was not texting though, they were watching a video.

Not extreme at all. And you know you are not got to make any effort to change so why pretend
Yeah it's extreme. If I'm at a red light I will check texts or something like that. I'm not flying down the highway or holding up traffic to bullshit with friends. I'm just being honest that I'll pull my phone out while behind the wheel, but I'm selective about when I do. But it's necessary most of the time.
And it was sarcasm, not pretending.

I don't text or drink and drive.

It's hard enough masturbating while watching porn and eating a cheeseburger during my rush hour drive on I-10, I don't think I could free up a hand to text.

The crap about texting, or drinking has nothing to do with the two idiots who tried to find out who had the fastest pony and ending up killing the innocent.

Street racing on a busy highway is just plain stupid. But when your 10' tall and bullet proof what can happen?

Ahhh, so you're the guy who holds up traffic when the light turns green...no biggie then.
