When is somebody going to make some? I am actually really enjoying the TVS, tranny and rear end gears exactly the way it is right now. I just wish we could get some parts to rebuild the tranny and make it a little more bullet proof. I intetionally don't power shift at the track in hopes of keeping it together as long as I can. Any Vendors know of anything on the horizon?

I've only seen one guy do a rebuild, it was rebuilt by liberty gears, I think that's their name, I've wondered the same thing myself. The different gearing of the t56 mag just ain't right for this car

I don't think the guy went face plated, just cryo, shot peen, brass synchros and shift forks, some bearings that actually go through a quality control process, basically stuff that the tranny shoulda had out the gate

Shoulda. Lol

I wish ford would option shit like:
A t56 mag, aluminator, etc.

I much rather of paid 40k for a built motor, good tranny car.

All the options were pretty boy crap mainly.

T56 gearing doesn't match up with the car well is the problem, all the guys that have switched to it have had to fear down to 4.10's or lower to get the "feel" back

Yes but it has a lower o/d so it works out.

3.66 or whatever first gear in the mt-82 is useless when u start making power.

First gear is good for sixty feet with a 3.55 rear gear. Pretty short, and why the 1-2 is so critical.

It felt like I was shifting at the tree damn near. Great 60s but I had to row those suckers. But can hook shit on the street even with 325 dr.

I dont like the MT82 gearing. I would much rather a T56. I dont like having to shift into 5th to go over 120mph. I miss all my old 5spds that would do 120mph in 3rd where my car with 3:31's will only do 121mph in 4th.

What's the rebuild cost on something like that?

this is a little info i gathered as i eventually plan on getting the t-56 magnum.
I used an online calculator using as 28" tall tire for all inputs. Mph in each gear is based on 7000rpm redline of the coyote engine

These are the 2 options on gearing you can get with the t-56 magnum 2.66 first gear with a 4.10 gear and a 2.97 first gear with 3.73

2.66 2.97
4.10g 3.73g
28"t 28"t

1 52 51
2 77 73
3 106 106
4 138 151
5 186 189
6 276 244

These are the mph in each gear i got with the mt-82 with just different rear gear ratios at redline.

mt-82 mt82
4.10g 3.73g
28"t 28"t

38 41
56 62
81 89
104 115
138 151
212 233

You sure about that? I have 3.31s and trapped 124 last time out and was only at about 6400 rpms. I plan on trapping 130ish and still remaining in 4th gear. I guess my 28 inch tall tires help that.

it still amazes me how some of us can have NO problems with our MT82s and others cant go 500miles without blowing one up. interesting.

outside of slight whine my trans has been fantastic and i can shift the hell out of it. no problems with lockout/grinding/high rpm shifts nothing.

Same with mine, I have the whine but no grinding or gear locknout unless im at 7k. But MGW even fixed that.
