I was told not to bump old threads before so I will ask this question in a new thread.

I know the MRT hood struts open the hood about 1" less then stock. Does anyone know what the redline struts open the hood compared to stock.

I am in the market for a set of hood struts and I am just checking the difference. I have been searching but didn't find anything about the amount redline opens the hood.

Any one have issues with loose rivets on the redline struts after some use?

Thanks

I love my MRT struts. I also like the fact that they sits closer to the rear of the engine compartment and not closer to the middle like the Redline ones.

I bought the redline off ebay..read the directions where I would have to drill into my car...and as mentioned in the post above the struts are in the way when working on the car...not impressed.

I asked around and got numerous recommendations for the MRT hood struts. Bought them, installed them. This is a quality product and looks OEM.

I just gave the redlines away...maybe they'll work on a civic.

IMHO get the MRT hood struts..there is no comparison to make.

MRT fan here. I also like how they tuck up closer to the hinges, giving more room to access the engine if needed. They also bolt on, no drilling.

another better view showing the whole strut assembly with the brackets.

you can't really go wrong with either set IMHO. I have the redlines, I like the look of them better. I may go with the mrt ones on my 95 just for shits and giggles
