A man went to his lawyer and told him, "My neighbor owes me $500 and he doesn't want to pay up. What should I do?"

"Do you have any proof?" asked the lawyer.

"Nope," replied the man.

"Okay, then write him a letter asking him for the $1000 he owed you," said the lawyer.

"But it's only $500," replied the man.

"Precisely. That's what he will reply and we will have the proof we need to nail him."

Works every time , and then the lawyer take the 500 for fees lol.

that shit kills me. We see it all the time on WC and auto injury claims. The claimant gets next to nothing while the lawyer gets a chunk of the settlement amount + their billable hours. Its a joke

I learned years ago , if you have " Practice " in any part of your job description , nothing has to go right , and you still get paid .
Think Doctor and Lawyer .

Never worked on me. I throw out all dunning letters that don't include a contract signed by me. I used to get phony 1099's from different studios all the time as they tried to pad expenses.
