Sorry if this shouldn’t be posted here but I didn’t think it would get many views in the market. This is as clean of an example that you will find. Runs great and needs nothing.

That bike is clean.

Although, for me, I rather get a new 2 stroke 250 for 7-8k than pay 6k for a 2002.
Totally get it. This bike is looking for a very specific buyer. A collector type or just a moto nut with the cash for something nostalgic.

I wouldn’t buy it to ride it every weekend as my only bike. I’d keep it fresh and maybe resell it down the road as it ages and becomes rarer.

For sure. I love the bike, brings me back to the early 2000's when 2 strokes were the majority of bikes at the dealers.
There is definitely a buyer for that bike.

Your weekend warrior who isn’t racing every weekend is migrating back to 2 strokes. Some practice days are 50/50.

Sold my 02 Cr250R 3 years ago. Was second owner. Was a beaut. Riding just started to kick my ass. Was sore for a few days after. With age, get a cage!

Nothing wrong with having a classic 2-stroke trophy bike in the shed. ;)

I don't have the balls for dirt bikes.
I try to compare it more to a pitcher painting the edge of the plate with the perfect pitch. Speed comes from skill and technique, no amount of balls will make you go faster. New riders focus on wanting to do the jumps and get hung up on worst case scenario for the jumps going wrong but if you focus on corners, momentum and technique the jumps will come naturally and end up being the only spot on the track to relax your grip and rest.

I rode mine like a scared bitch. Still fun!

I may get another yz250 when the market is down. Used bikes have been nuts for 2-3 years. At least i still have my banshee.

OP's bike isnt badly priced for the market today. People want 4k for junk. It's a sellers market.
