I know that a 285/35/19 will fit on the brembo rim for the rears but my question is would a 285/40/19 still fit even with the taller side wall without rubbing? And if so would reduced handling become a factor? I'm just wondering because I found a set of Michelin ps2's for cheap but in 285/40's

Old thread, but how are these holding up now that you've had them a year?

Have htr z3 now 275 width on a stock auto 5.0 and they absolutely suck, even worse than the pzero all season 245 width

I love mine (same size as OP), great DD tire and do well in the summer during HDPE events! For the price, outstanding tire.
Although I have 3.31s and am NA (my last car was SC 625hp and 3.73s....I learned my lesson and bought the NA/3.31 car)

If your looking for Drag tire...these are not for you!
If your looking for a dedicated Rd Course tire....RE11.
If your looking for an "all yr around" tire....NOPE!
BUT: Mix of spirited weekend/DD & good for occasional SUMMER HDPE....these are marketed for you!

I would buy 275/35/19 Nitto 555's which are at the same price point, over the MT street radial for the traction. Nitto 555's wont last as long as the MT street radial, but they provide much better traction throughout their life. Im not dissatisfied with my purchase but im also not completely happy either, they are a daily driver tire at best.

Just my experience with them, maybe im expecting too much from them.

Thanks so much for posting your feedback here!

Ford cursed us with the 19x9 wheel... it's very difficult to pick an optimal tire for this size.

Do you think the over-sized tire for the wheels has been an issue? Is the turn-in any more sluggish than it should be?

The 275/35/19 would be a less objectional fit in terms of width but they're .5" shorter than stock :(
285/35/19s are closer.
