man all the 300a's are high mile's or totaled....

I'd find something with lower mileage for a DD, as a project cat that'd be fine... 4v's dont last as long into the mileage as 2v's do...

how high of milage have you seen the 4v go so far

Theirs one on mm.net driven by a nice lady as her DD, that just rolled 250k

Most are around 100k.

on the other hand i've seen many crown vic's, grand marquis, and town cars go well over 500k miles, taxi's way over 800k miles.

Panther reliability at its finest

I've personally seen a 96 Cobra with over 560000kms. Original motor, second water pump, 3rd transmission. It's his daily driver and weekend race car, so it hasn't been easy miles either.

The transmissions on Marauders are fairly dependable as long as the fluid is changed regularily and you avoid WOT downshifts from 4th.

how good are the trannys on the 03/04

i herd the 04 is better
The '03 Marauder has a 4R70W transmission and the '04 has the upgraded 4R75W.

Some features added to the '04s include traction control and heated seats.

Features on the '03 (300A), but not the '04 include underhood light, clock in dash trim (the '04 uses a clock in the radio), map pockets in the front seat, gas door popper, and a full-size spare.

My 03 has all the above mentioned options, minus a sunroof.

It just turned 144k yesterday. It's my DD.. I bought it this past summer with 135k for $8k.

It's the best and most reliable car I've ever owned, but it needs about 500hp to be fun.. at least it handles ok, especially for the weight.

The last oil analysis I sent off was Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w20 @ 5k miles, and here's Blackstone's report:

I have no doubt that it will run like a top for at least another 100k miles.

I've drag raced it once to a 15.1 @ 93

It gets about 17-18 around town and 24 highway.. and rides so great.

Here are a couple pictures:

Why did you change the tensioner? Did the belt chirp when it shifted at high rpm? Mine does.. even with a new belt. Maybe I need a tensioner.
