Hey everyone, the name's Mike. Long time lurker, new poster here. Picked up a '04 DSG Mach 1 (HUGE upgrade from my '05 v6) last fall, just in time to put it away for the winter after a few trips to the local strip. Now that spring's getting close I figured I'd stop lurking and actually post an intro.

Car is pretty stock aside from a T-56 swap (used to be auto), and flowmaster mufflers. Lookin to do some wheels/tint/short throw/gears etc soon, and would like to go turbo after I stop being a poor college student.

And since no intro thread is complete without pics...

Welcome to the site.
That's awesome that you found one with a 6 speed swapped in.
DSG is the best color IMO.

Welcome! Dark Shadow Gray is a great color. Detail the paint and use a good polish and the metal flake will really pop. Pretty nice that you have a 6-speed. You bought the car with the 6-speed already installed, right?

Yeah it was 6-speed swapped when I bought it which was great for me because I was going to want to do a 6-speed swap eventually anyways.

The flake surprises me every time I see the car. Grey is usually such a dull color on cars.

I had a feeling you bought it that way. Cool! Definitely use a clay bar in the Spring and give the paint a good detailing, followed by a good polish. Trust me, the result will surprise you. I used to get so many compliments on my Dark Shadow Gray paint. A great color IMO.
