The SVT team always said the 5.4(aluminum)/5.8 are over-engineered. Carroll Shelby is on record saying they can comfortably handle 1000HP. Which is why I don't get why guys spend money replacing parts when they don't need to. I'll take (now defunct) SVT and Carroll Shelby at their words. I'm not changing any internals unless/until I go over 1000 crank HP.
