My friend has a LS2 GTO which is pretty nice, for mods it has cold air intake, exhaust from headers back, and I believe it has a tune aswell. Just wondering how these cars would hold up to

a stock 03/04 cobra or maybe a pullied cobra...

thanks!

Full bolton/tune GTO is good for 108-110 traps. a good run for a stock Termi.. A pullied Termi would yank a bolton GTO

Really? An LS2 GTO can trap 108~109mph bone stock...

Aside from the mph ranges you said being off I agree...good race for a stock termi but a pullied termi should run away.

In reality at the track, I've seen full bolt on GTOs go 108-110mph..... Magazines have them at 108

Like others have mentioned, a stock terminator would be a good matchup with a bolt-on ls2. I trapped 106-107 all day in stock form, and now with bolts ons and a tune I'm getting 110s and 111s.

magazines are just for interest....they usually don't race at a strip, and their traps are 'actual' not 'average' like at the track.

It would be like posting a G-Tech time.

I say GTo loses every time.

I have seen stock Cobras run 111-113

You must live where the DA is crappy year round and high elevation? 643ft track here and I've seen it on more than one occasion. You know...in reality.. where I go to get track slips.

FWIW on the GTO boards bolt on only GTOs range from 107 ~ 114mph.

It's hard not to give the edge to the modified car vs a stock car. I think the GTO should win if the cobra is stock. Apples and Oranges if you ask me. Because when I think of stock car I think of stock tires as well, so if the Cobra has stock tires and the goat has drag tires... It's all over. So it's pointless

Take all 15 of those times add them up and they average out to 110-111mph...Which is what I said before of a full bolt on/tune gto..

I've seen a few 418 strokers going mid 11's @ 121mph dynoing 540rwhp

That's fine..but then take all of the stock / pulled Cobra times and do the same. ;)

I wasn't going for an average..this is a what if scenario and I always bring strong examples on both sides for comparison. If were are just going to toss averages together the numbers will be all over the board and hardly comparable.

As I said earlier. Fullbolt-ON/tune GTO and a stock Cobra would make for a good run. Drivers race infact. A pullied cobra would absolutely walk away from a GTO.

I say a drivers race with a bolt-on GTO. I trapped 112 my first time at the track in my stock Cobra. I'm also new to manual. So, goes to say, if an "ok" driver can trap that, a good driver can trap 113-114.

Now, give the Cobra DR's, and that would be an edge for the Cobra against a bolt-on LS2.

a guy in my neighborhood has a 06 gto w a cam, lt, intake and tune When I was stock I would run even or pull a little with my upper only and tune I would put 4 cars on him at anytime when he thought he had a chance, He want to run my ported upper/lower set up but I think it will be a waste of time.

Your friend needs the driver mod..A cammed/bolton LS2 GTO would squash a stock Cobra..Even a upper/tuned Cobra would have it's hands full....I've personally seen cammed/bolton GTO's pull bottom 12's..
