yeah wd-40 atf diesel anything with petro solvents will soften up rubber and put oils back in the tires wd-40 works well

I second, or third, or forth the Goodyear GSD3 notion. A lot of people underestimate this tire until they run them. As a daily driver they are a great tire, they look mean and they are excellent in wet conditions.
I would also suggest looking into the Kumho MX or the 555RII. These are a DOT RT tire designed for auto crossing. Life on these will be shorter than the GSD3's and performance in wet conditions would be less but they would last longer than a Drag radial. They are build for cornering and performance on Dry roads. You also may be able to Heat cycle these as well for added life and increased performance.
