I went downtown this weekend to see if I could come up with some interesting shots. I ended up taking several long exposures of a fountain in a small park and some light trails of passing cars. I am pretty happy with how they turned out and I am getting more and more ideas on new things to try. Comments welcome.

Nice work. Long exposure stuff is fun, especially when water is involved. 2 & 4 are sweet. Nice composition.

Those are great. I love long exposure shots. My Canon S3IS only does 15 seconds but thats enough for some cool stuff.

I like the first one. I think the second one would look a lot better if it was HDR. All that you would need is a short second exposure to make the street lights a little darker. Have you thought about putting a gradient layer over the water and the fountain in photoshop. Coloring the water would look cool

I haven't taken any of these photos into CS4 yet. Everything I did was in Lightroom. I will probably play around with a few of them in CS4 later on though. Thanks for the idea.

Well done...I have that same camera...have you bought any additional lenses yet?

Well I had a D40 for about a year and then I upgraded to the D90 so I have bought several lenses in the past year. My current setup is as follows:

Nikkor 18-200mm 3.5-5.6
Nikkor 50mm 1.8
Sigma 10-20mm 4-5.6

Should be picking up a Nikkor 105mm 2.8 micro before too long.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments.

Anyone wanting high res pm me an email address and tell me which one you want.
