Trying to get the stock fan apart from the water pump. Is there any tips I should know? I can't for the life of me get it to separate. I'm trying to install a electric fan kit. Any help would be great!

Sorry to seem like a newb! I have had mustangs for the past several years. A little learning curve with the truck. This is on a 2003 L by the way.

Thanks!! Kellyo

Shows what I know. Didn't realize there was a special tool for the removal. Which way does it turn to loosen the fan? CW or CCW?

Cant remember on gas jobs. But which ever way tha pulley turns then thats they way it tightens. (If the belt sit up turns the pulley CW, then it comes off CCW.)

Why go with the Navi water pump? Mine runs just fine (temps and all) with the stock pump after the electric fan install.

If you'd seriously entertain the idea of using a blow torch or sawzall to remove the fan when a BFWrench can do the job (or the right tool from the parts house), perhaps you'd be interested in upgrading your sound system like this ass-clown  :

BTW... according to the package, J.B. Weld is "better than bailing wire." You may seriously want to look into this for mounting your new e-fans :dw: .

No thanks. I have the ability to be a dumbass on occasion, but not in this case.

2 pipe wrenches and a cheater pipe and it came off. I was kidding about using the sawzall!

Just run a long screwdriver or tire iron across 2 pulley bolts diagonally to hold the pulley still. Then use a large wrench to loosen the fan.

It's installed. Works perfectly. I think it runs a little cooler when idling than it did with the stock fan setup. I installed the Perma-Cool twin kit. Had to be a little creative with the intercooler coolant tank. I still have the stocker. Will get a better one soon.
Thanks for the help!

Comes off ccw by the way.
