went to Linville Falls, NC last weekend, had a good time. The next day, we ran up 421 "the snake" past Boone, then came back east on hwy 58 in Virginia, fun run.

yeah, I know. I wanted to visit a few others, but my wife's toe is messed up. This was the easiest trail of the bunch that I wanted to visit. Next time, we will hit up a few others.

Nice pics! Love this area! I have a nice little place in Burnsville, so we go there whenever we can! Great roads to cruise on too!

Thanks for posting the pics!

As a true Appalachian/Blue Ridge geologist... I approve of this post! Great picks!

There's a LOT going on geologically in/around Linville Falls. It was during my Senior Seminar class that I chose the Linville Falls Shear Zone to study. That lead to my master's research outside of Brevard.

My parents started taking me to Linville each fall when I was in elementary school. A trip to hike around there never gets old!
