Can anyone answer me this question? If a 2003 lightning is made in 2003 when where the 2004 lightnings made. My friend seems to think that the 2003 lightning is the same as the 2004 lightning they just said it is a 2004 but it was made in 2003. Kind of as a roll over to get rid of there last 03 f150 models. He say's this because they didn't come out with any new models this year for the lightning and they are still using the same body. Help me shut this guy up please!!:bash:

The 03 and the 04 Lightning are the same, just hold different production years. The 04 L is the "heritage" body style, not the new 04 F-150 body style.

The 2004 Lightnings are the same as the 2003's except for a color change. If we're lucky the next generation L will be here by '06. :bored:
Yeah I know it's the same model ( body style) not 2004 f150 NON-LIGHTNING. But, this guy is saying the '04 L's were produced in the same year as the '03. They just changed the year model to make it seem like it's a '04 but was really made in 2003's production year.:nono:

THat's funny, considering that new 04 L's are still being produced.
They did build 04 models in 2003. The production year always starts the year prior. It's still a 2004 model, but built in 2003. All car makers do this, how else are you supposed to have a car for sale in Jan 04 if you're just then starting to build it?

dunno about the lightning but you can still get a new f150 in the old style its just called a heritage ...so yea same style new production

Just like they made '03's in 2002.... '02's in 2001, etc......duh!!!! Depends on when you buy it. If you "order" one now it will be made in '04, otherwise it's probably been built in 2003, considering it's only Feb. 16th. :bored:

For those 04 owners that weren't able to get your build date Mr. Ed on that ask the tech forum of the nloc site got mine for me. 10/09/2003. A Thursday truck only day better Tues.
