as some of you may know I'm in the middle of a dream build. is bascically a 99 cobra drivetrain equipped 97 cobra with all of the corners ford cut fixed.

the front fenders do not allow for the 17x9's people like to run up there. i know, you can add negative offset or you can not have the car very low OR you can just be fine with them sticking out but unfortunately I'm not down with any of that.

they need to fit, fit well, and fit similarly to the rears.

rears with negative camber maxed out.

front with negative camber maxed out (2-2.5 degrees.

that's like 5/8 of overhang and i need like a quarter inch of it inside the fender to look right so we're really talking about almost an inch too much tire outside the fender.

so if i'm gonna run these 03 cobra wheels (which i do in fact want) with these tires i'm gonna need another inch of fender and if i don't modify them at all i'll have to stick with some 17x8 with 255's at the most (maybe even 245's).

i plan on running 275's in the rear to get the sidewalls looking similar and to allow for plenty of suspension adjustment.

that's my situation. anybody got any ideas?

Those are oem wheels, or AFS?
I run True Forged wheels that were cut for an 03-04 Cobra and everything is flush.

oh sorry guys, i forgot to mention i have the maximum motorsports k member and tubular control arms.

if i just swap spindles then I'm bringing the wheels in closer to the coilovers so I'm thinking that isn't going to work either.

here's my choices so far:
- 98 cobra wheels (17x8 +30) with the similar 17x10.5 reps for the rear
- forgestar F14 's (17x8.5F and 17x9.5R)

- Superlite wheels from vintagewheels.com

(Superlite wheel sizes 13 to 17 inch (price shown per wheel) : Vintage Wheels, Mustang, Hot Rod and Muscle Car)

I solved my problem. Got another inch or so out of the stock fenders.
i can easily run 17x9's up front now so 8.5's are no problem at all.

the plan is 255 front / 275 rears
