Launch control vs traction control off

Has anyone done back to back runs on the strip with launch control and without traction control on?

I'm going to the drag strip next Friday to hang out but I might run my 15 GT if it's not too busy.

I'm still on the stock tires (235s) and I expect traction to be my biggest enemy. I'm thinking I'll just use the launch control, it got me a 4.8s 0 to 60 testing on an empty back road. BTW I've never been to the drag strip before...

Has anyone compared the two? I expect a skilled driver with good tires to do better than the launch control. It should be more for consistency right?

I've tried both launch control and T/C off at the track... the track wasn't prepped at all and launch control ended with a horrible 2.6 60ft due to it cutting power after it started spinning bad in 1st and 2nd. My best times were with T/C off and launching like I would at a red light on the street.

Update:

Went to the track with 2 coworkers. One was an 11 GT (stock) MT, the other was a 90 300ZX TT with at least exhaust. I was running resonator delete (only mod) and stock 235's.

First run I tried launch control in advance trac sport mode vs the 11 GT. I was on the Left
I shifted at 6500.

Second run was without launch control against the same car, i shifted at 7000.

I wheel hopped pretty badly in first and second. I tried to pedal it a little to stop it. I will definitely be buying the BMR CB005 kit to reduce/eliminate the wheel hop, and hopefully adding tires before the next time we go.

On the 3rd match up, it was between the 11 GT and the 90 300zx. The GT was definitely faster, but the 300z also broke down on this run so we've got to go get it this morning lol
