I am looking into a KB or maybe a Works sometime in the near future. My lightning is bone stock except for a 3/5 drop. I didn't know if there was anything else I needed to get ready for the KB besides a JDM stage 1 and gauges.

May just get a stage 1 and a #4 or #6 and save a little more. But I also don't know which pulley would be best. I hear people say they couldn't really tell a difference in the 6lber over the 4lber. Just extra heat and stress on the motor.

Thanks,

Helix

My advice

for less than a KB, I would do these mods
Electric fan
Cobra water pump
chip
filter
4#pulley
traction bars
driveshaft loop
breather cap

Personally I think the water pump is a waste of time. Keep in mind the KB isn't really going to do much on a stock bottom end. I would get all of the other stuff first. Also you might check out LT's.

The Cobra R water pump is an inexpensive mod. "about $90-$100" And it's much lighter and cools better than the stock pump.

Helix, I have run the #4 and the #6. Unless you have a bigger heat exchanger and /or heat exchanger fans, the #6 is a waste on the street. I gained very little when I went from the 4 to the 6. It heats up the intake charge and kills the extra HP you would be getting.

the water pump is a little lighter that the stock and any weight saving is better than none
that pump from ford coast less than a stock pump (under 70 bills i belive)

So there's no real point in putting a KB on a stock motor? What about the line mod valve, boost bypass and CAI? I guess I thought this because of what they say on KB website. With those mods think I will be in the mid 12's?

LT's...?

Thanks,

Helix
