Is this possible?

Ok guys, a friend of mine claims that his Cobra vert went 11.80's at 118. The only only mods were (he claims) a 2.76 pulley, catted x, 3" catback, FIPK. I know that he can drive cause he owns/drive a 6second 10.5 car. I would be happy to believe our cars can run these numbers with so little, but I am having a hard time believing this.

What are your thoughts.

A friend of my bf's friends went 11.6 with 2.8 upper (i think it may have been a 2.76) a 4 lower, flowmasters with o/r Hpipe, c/a intake, tune, and drag radials. He was one hell of a driver though. So I'm sure its possible for your friend as long as he can drive the crap out of the car.

Ummm i guess its possible but unlikely .. maybe on a full slick and a hard ass launch

What's so hard to believe? He went high 11's with a pullied Cobra? This has happened dozens of times, all you need is a good tire and be able to row them.

I just inputted some numbers on a horsepower calculator. It seems you need 450-470 to the tires(assuming it hooks).
I think it was on M+H slicks when he went 11.80's

I remember reading from somewhere that right after the release of the cobra, Ford put some slicks on a stock cobra and went 11.99.

my friend went 11.76 with a 2.76 pullie, tb, plenium, nitto tires, catless x-pipe, slp catback. it was untuned to. so yea it happens. i went 12.36 at 116 or something like that. with just a few bolt ons and a lot of ppl dont believe that.
