Thanks! you are the Man!

Be advised that TSB also states that customers may still experience
some light knock even after the flash update. :nonono:
I was in discussion with them on that issue for 15 minutes.
Anyway it will around $70-90 to haveDealers reflash it.

I'd rather not shell out 400 bucks to fix something that doesn't happen too often for me...

this thread has some good info on how this guy fixed it with the SSM, cleaning the MAF, and colder plugs...

Agreed.
I only get it for a for small, quick ping and stops as the revs climb.
Furthermore it does not happen everytime.
Me thinks the colder plug may be worth a try.
My plugs may be fouled anyway from the original owner just
starting the engine twice a month and not driving it.
He put on 2500 miles in 8 years :bored:

ok.. had the SSM fix... still has some ping. What finally fixed it for me is to clean the MAF.
I cleaned it, drove around today (its pretty warm today) and no ping what so ever.

If anyone has this problem, start with cleaning the MAF, then colder plugs, then to the SSM.

Had the Ford TSB-prescribed reflash many moons ago...with a only a few K on the clock. Never had a serious knock...just a light pinging. Reflash took care of it. Haven't heard it since.
