Is my 60ft as good as should be expected?

I've been going to T&T the last few weeks and am mainly focusing on 60ft times.
I'm just wondering if I'm expecting too much or if they are about average.
There have been some things that don't make sense to me but I guess every car is different.
2 tracks both are 1/8th mile

2011 GT A6 all stock besides
Tune
Nitto 555r 275/40/18 10 inch wheels

approx. 20 runs with most 60ft being 1.93-1.96 with a few 1.97-1.98 and a few 1.91-1.92
DA between 300 and 2600

Best 60ft was VERY first time down the strip.
60ft was 1.86 but blew the tires shifting to second. aborted run
Ended up running best that night of 8.01 at 88 with 1.91 60ft
DA was 300

Added offroad xpipe, removed spare tire and 60ft still 1.93-1.96
MPH up to 90 with 2600 DA
Most runs 8.06-8.09

Removed front swaybar 60ft still 1.93-1.97

Last night with 1500 DA run 7.98 at 91 and 7.96 at 91 with 1.93 60ft.

At one track I can hear tires chirping/screeching a little at hit and the other track which is much better prepped it feels and sounds like it "dead hooks" but 60ft are about the same.

There are probably 3-4 hundredths more in it with shift to second screeching/spinning instead of just chirping at both tracks.

Best 60ft have been with 30 psi. I have lowered to as much as 22 psi and 60ft were 1.96-1.98

Best 60ft (1.86) has been leaving off idle but generally doesn't seem to matter if I stall to 1500 or not.

Thoughts

*sorry for the rambling. Just trying to give as much info as possible

Are you heating up the tire pretty good each run? I have heard 555r's respond well to heat.

May be time for some suspension upgrades.

OP, how are you launching? Off idle or bringing up what rpm on brake?
My best is 2.0's so I'd be happy with 1.8-9 60 foots.

One more thing, I have noticed my car actually 60's better spinning a tiny bit, I assume because I am in the powerband better than a bog/dead hook with the stock converter.

Leaving off idle has had the lowest 60ft's. Generally powerbraking to 1200-1500 has been 2-3 hundreths slower on the same nights.

That appears to be the same with mine. My best ever was the first run ever. It went chirt-chirt-chirt-chirt at the hit and had the 1.86. I thought man I may get some 1.80's if it dead hooks. Wrong.

The last two nights I have powerbraked to 1200-1500 because it helped me get a better light on the pro tree.

I won $50 running 8.0 heads up last Saturday. (there were only two cars though.) :lol1:

you wont see much better than mid 1.8's on the stock converter and leaving off idle almost always produces the best 60'

quite possible that the extra wheel speed from very slight spin will lower your 60'

It seems that 1.86 was just an anomaly for me.
30 psi, light burnout
100% stock except for tune and tires.

Since, I have added offroad xpipe, removed swaybar, removed spare tire and have been stuck in 1.92-196 range.
Only other difference was 300 DA verses 1500-2600 DA.

It doesn't seem DA would affect 60ft that much but maybe it does?

The best I could get with my car is a high 1.9 60' with my stock converter even after the Procharger. Dead hooking on drag radials. After my 3c install it pulls 1.6 60's. The converter is just tight.

Transbrake will definitely help with the stock converter, it is just way more efficient than footbraking, you don't get any better in holding the car back. The best I could get on stock converter, standing on the brake, was 1.86 60ft. went to a 5c and instantly went to a 1.62 not even pushing it. Mine always ran better when I was up on the converter, 12.37@112, all stock w/tune & 3.55 gears.

curious to see if transbrake help with stock converter.....some say no
but i think it could help...
It will help but you probably wont be happy until you get a converter. A higher stall converter is some of the best money you can spend on an automatic and with this 6 speed you can go with a very high stall with good drivability and great results at the drag strip.

I like the 3c. You will notice a difference at first. It will feel slightly more sluggish getting going but after my tune with the better throttle response and getting used to it I dont even notice it anymore in normal driving.

a converter doesnt need a tune? you just do tune to change drivability?
