Li Auto leads Chinese EV sector lower after model pulled from tax exempt list
- Chinese electric vehicle stocks are lower in early trading after Li Auto (NASDAQ:LI) says it is no longer selling a car model that was removed from China's tax exemption list.
- Earlier today, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology posted a notice covering canceling purchase tax exemption of more than 2K NEV models which have no production or import within 12 months.
- Li Auto is down 3.69% in premarket trading, while Nio (NYSE:NIO) is off 1.68% and XPeng (NYSE:XPEV) is 2.35% lower.
- Li Auto, Nio and XPeng all plan to list shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
