Has anyone ever tried to use a heat gun to melt the epoxy and remove the runners?

Epoxy isnt glue in the traditional sense. I highly doubt that you could heat an engine application epoxy hot enuf to remove it as you can with some glue.
A heat gun will not work, not even close.
I was able to the epoxy off the tabs but not much luck with the runners. I read some where that you cuold put it in the oven on 450F for a hour or so and that will work. This heat gun is is able to get it to about 250C so I thought it might be hot enough.
I've found that a MAP torch works best.
I talked with a welder at work and he said the best bet would to be put it in an oven. But I guess I will invest in a mapp torch.
