Installed an Afco GT500 heat exchanger in car

Im pretty sure those tabs are for mounting a stock Heat exchanger. I didnt see anything about GT500 HE when i bought mine

yesterday I received the gt500 afco h/e and did some measurement and calculations compared to cobra afco h/e

Correct me if I am wrong

Gt500 has 23 (23.8"×1.2") tubes
23.8 × 1.2 = 28.56 cu in each tube
28.56 × 23 = 656.88 cubic inches. total service area

Cobra has 11 (28.5"×2.25) tubes
28.5 × 2.25 = 64.12 cu in each
64.12 × 11 = 705 cubic inches total service area

That's mean the cobra afco H/E 7.5% more efficient than gt500afco !!

Again correct me if I am wrong

You should be measuring surface area not capacity.

Is the trunk mount tank a requirement? Is it because the normal reservoir would get overrun with hot coolant?
