In-Car Vid - New GF5R Clutchless 5 Spd

First full pass with the new GForce trans last Friday. Launched at 6,500. Shifted at 9,200.

Tires spun with a 1.38 60-ft but she went a 9.55 at 139.4.

I think there is 2, maybe 3 more tenths in here once I figure out the clutch.

I saw that you shut the car off right after going through the traps. Is there any benefit to that? Just curious..

A naturally aspirated 359 SBF (14.5:1 compression). Finally bucked up for a real transmission and clutch.

That deal. Long ago, when I used to run a stock oiling system, the melling high volume would start cavitating at rpm's above 8,000. This was not good for oil pressure - it would drop on deceleration with engine still running. Also, the pan was getting sucked dry, so I just shut it off through the traps.

Now, with the external wet sumo system this is not too critical, but I still shut it off, mostly due to habit. It does allow one to read the plugs accurately though.

A couple of weeks ago was first time out with the new trans. Had too much clutch dialed in though, and the car was coming up too high.

On this pass I pulled second gear early in hopes it would come down but it really didn't so I aborted the run. Tripped 60-ft marker with back tires...
