Image posting issues.

I'm trying to get my pictures to show back up in my build thread, and this is the only site they're not working on.

Can you give me a hand in figuring out why these are not working? All photos are hosted on my personal IMGUR account and as said, they work elsewhere and had worked in the past, so not sure why they stopped.

That link takes me nowhere. I've seen a bunch of threads in the Market that the links show when I quote, but the pictures don't show up in the post or the quote. Only Imgur links. Any link to another site I can look at to see the pictures?

Yeah, and that's exactly what I mentioned above. I'll ask in the Admin section, have you contacted anyone to ask about this?

I think it is an imgur issue. I've seen people complain about the same thing on other sites as well.

Nah. There is a 99% chance that I'm wrong. That's the thing about me. According to my wife, I'm wrong most of the time.

I contacted sid and stampede. Stampede said post here he was away from PC.

Using this host on 4-5 other sites and no issues on any of those. Can't just be imgur.

Edit - just wanted to point out Imgur does seem to have the ability to block a specific site. This may be a case of one person ruining the experience for everyone.

Just use Photobucket. I've been using it for longer than I can remember and I've never had a single issue.

Well - I sent an email to Imgur a few days ago. Just got this response:
Hi there,

Thanks for writing. Unfortunately that site has been blocked from hotlinking due to abuse of Imgur's terms of service (http://imgur.com/tos). Imgur's ToS prohibits using Imgur as a content delivery network, hotlinking adult or illegal images, torrents, image hosting for commercial purposes, or sites which copy Imgur's own functionality.

If you'd like to be unblocked, please take measures to undo the functionality that caused the terms of service breach, at which point we'd be happy to review. One way to do that is to use Imgur's embed unit instead of hotlinking. To use that, choose "post options" --> "embed post" and copy the URL.

Please let me know if you have any other questions; I'd be happy to help.

Damn. Thanks for the update. There goes the build thread. Not going to double host my images. I have a paid imgur account and all my photos are there. Guess I'll just throw an outside link up if that's ok.

OK with me, and as Jeff said above. I've used Photobucket for at least 8 years w/o issue. Guess Imgur is stupid, and BTW, no stupid "adult images" are allowed here as they put it.

I asked for specifics on what caused the ban and was told the following:

Brianna Walker*(Imgur)

Jul 22, 14:56 MST

We allow hotlinking on forums (with the exception of classifieds/for sale topics), but hotlinked images cannot be used by website owners as content on their website, including blog posts, avatars, site elements, sales, and advertising. So any hotlinked Imgur images on your home page from the blog posts would need to be changed, along with any vendor or classified images. Let me know if that helps!*

**** that site then. I'll update the Market rules not to use that site unless they want to host "artwork", idiots.
