I love my car so much. 2012 GT with Brembos and 3.31's

Mods:

I've gone to the track 2 weeks in a row and it's actually been running over 118 mph in these conditions. This run, it spun through most of first. Left at about 5k but the previous runs the car would bog leaving at 4-4500, would have the same 60 but run a tenth slower. It has 11.50's with a good launch.

Right lane, car 4024

Next up is e85 and GT350 manifold

Sweet! I really found a slick to be the best choice for a stick car. Much easier to regulate the launch. It'd just dead hook and go. I did 11.91 on a Procal tune and a sticky tire, on my fully loaded '12 BBP with 3.73s, stock airbox, exhaust, etc. My auto car I have now couldn't quite match that n/a, (12.4) so I fire nitrous at it now. I'm going for 10s on 150 with all the same stock stuff the '12 had. I've done 11.4 at over 120 on a 100 shot alone so, I think doable.

Slick is definitely the way to go but I like to drive my car. A slick will eventually go on for shits and giggles.

I drive to the track on non-dot drag slicks all the time. I don't even air them up. Not a big deal really, other than not hurling it into corners with reckless abandon but, I get your point.

Makes my buddies laugh as I roll through the gate and straight to tech, no prep, lol. They got their trailers, jacks, wheel guns and torque wrenches out, whole 9 yards.

Ummm, yeah, companies sell packages with that intake now but, what's that got to do with this guy's thread?

Oops, he does say that's his next step...never mind.....

I love new cars....back in our collective Foxbody days, 11.70 would be, because race car! Now we can drive to the track and just punch out high 11s and drive home, on a mildly modified vehicle that's still going to run 100,000 miles without issue. These are the good old days, in case nobody noticed.

A good friend of mine came out to the track to watch, we've been friends since HS and I was the Mustang guy and he was the Camaro guy. We were talking about this when we went to grab a bite after leaving the track. As we walk up I said "Man, sure is nice to just bolt on some exhaust, a cold air and a tune, run mid 11's on a radial, drive it home with the AC and quiet interior" lol. The closest thing to this car that was reliable, quiet and fast was my 93 LX that had an Incon TT kit. But my 86 GT, 91 LX and 95 Cobra were loud drone machines that ran in the mid-high 12's NA with mild heads and cam.
