I did both, 4.30s and a T56 with a .62 6th gear. 2600 rpm at 70 mph with 275/40r17s. Lots of low end grunt for a mostly stock N/A 4.6l DOHC. I had a no talent 600RWHP '03 Cobra owner at Hallett making excuses for why I passed him on the second lap out and he never saw me again.

Freeway runs are just fine. I've torn up a few T/A's and M3's from 60 with our 01' well into 130. Just make sure you nail that 5th gear. :)

4.30's rule. Don't fear the gear!

thank god for those gears cause it puts us somewhat in the same league as those pesky lightly modded LS1 F-bods, GTO, SRT8, SRT4 and Rally twins that rev up on us all the time.

yea true but just remember our cars stock 4th gears goes to 150 or something and stock gtos 4th gear goes to 130.. gears just even out the playing field. my mach stock with 430s was very good race with my buddys 6.0 gto from a roll race in 2nd all the way up to 125..

very nice! I think you might have just sold me on getting 4.30's over 4.10's.

Honestly I was nervous of it myself but I did it and I would not have it any other way. Go 4.30s and don't look back. 4.10s would work but 4.30s are absolutely fine with these cars.

I was affraid of doing them too but its well worth it. I think with these gears and shifting quicker, I dont see why I wouldnt be able to hit high 12's with a street tire. I just need to know where you guys with these gears feel the most comfortable shifting. 6k? 6.5k? 7k? oppinions please.

Thats what I am thinking especially since I will be NA for a few more years as I pay the car off, and play with suspension and bolt ons and what not.

If youve been dyno recently w/o many mod additions or have a fresh dyno, find where you make peak power an add 500 rpm and make that your shift point to put you right back in the peak power of the motor
