I have moles. Maybe they are gophers. I don't know. I have mounds of dirt all over my yard. Its driving me crazy, like Bill Murray-esque. I've tried poisoning their holes, but my dog is back there too and he likes to dig up there mounds so I'm a little hesitant to do that much. I'm also gone for work about 25 days a month, and the ol' lady ain't gonna do it if I'm gone.

I've heard that if you spray the yard for the worms they eat, they will leave. I think thats the next step, but you guys ever encounter this or have any solutions??

LOL, not to laugh at your issues but moles are the size of mice, gophers are the size of small dogs. How big are these holes?

If you have mounds of dirt all over, it sounds more like a gopher. Moles are much smaller and the tunnels smaller as well, so they are usually discovered when you see a slight raised area of you lawn which is spongy when you step on it. The presence of one or more gophers is a bit more obvious. You can talk to a pest removal specialist but some won't do anything for moles/voles/gophers. Others will put poison bait in their tunnels, or set traps. I had moles once and they're no fun to get rid of. I like you idea of getting rid of their food supply, but worms are actually beneficial to your lawn. Like I said, getting rid of the varmints is not usually easy.

Maybe follow Bill Murray's lead and stick a water hose into the tunnel and drown the sucker. Or toss in a few of those M80 fireworks. LOL! JK of course.

Damn but I love the idea of the Rodenator.

But in the past I have used those poison smoke bombs that you shove down the holes. My backyard is 100 X 50 feet and I used twenty of those bombs.

Lit them and dropped them down the holes, then shoveled dirt on top and stomped it down. There was smoke coming out of some holes when I dropped the bombs down them. They must have worked because I didn't have any more gopher problems.

But a house on the next block behind me was suddenly cursed with them:-D

We had a mole in the back. Like Bob said, not too much dirt in mounds mostly raised tunnels.

I got a "Mole Man" to set traps, he got the little F#%@*@r overnight.

Get rid of the body fast, that thing stunk.

PS $110 per mole.

I had them once. Took some tube, similar to a shop vac hose, put one end to my exhaust, the other into the hole. Fired the car up and let her idle for a bit. Problem solved thanks to good old hypemic hypoxia.

I had moles. I bought a pack of Juciey Fruit. The yellow pack. Took a piece and broke it into a few pieces and rolled them like a cigarette. I then found any place that tunnels Y-ed together and pushed a piece of gum down in. Used about 2 full pieces and 3 years later I still do not have any moles.

You either have to remove them or the food supply.

I normally treat the lawn with a granular insecticide and water it into the soil.

Other options are to remove/kill the problem which can get expensive.

I've heard of the juicy fruit thing, never tried it personally as I make more money off the insecticide treatment.

This works. I usually buy the family pack at Sams and load up the tunnels with the entire package. Moles die pretty quick when they get plugged up.
