How to confirm a 99/01 Front Cobra Bumper is authentic?

From what I’ve heard from two friends is that the ford logo/numbers can be found on the inside where it bolts to the fender - Below the headlight area.

However, I’ve yet to find a picture of the logo/numbers actually on a 99/01 bumper. Anyone have this? I want to make sure when I pickup a bumper that it is oem.

I took my bumper off in the fall to fix some broken tabs I found on it. Theres a FoMoCo stamp and serial number under there, drivers side i believe.

Does the serial number match the car, or is it just a part number?

serial number is last 6 of the vin.

Is it 100% certain that all 99/01 front Cobra bumpers will have the part number or Ford logo stamped/embossed on them? My buddy with an 01 Cobra confirmed his has a logo.

I’ve run across two bumpers recently that the seller claims to be original - yet no logo or part numbers can be found. I’ve had to pass on both of them because I’m not looking for a replica.

I honestly don't think there are any aftermarket 99/01 cobra bumper covers. I could be wrong, but I've looked for them in the past and all I could find was used OEM and even those are hard to find.

I too have looked for YEARS and have never found a single aftermarket piece that wasn't fiberglass.

Yep, I poked a hole and broke the tabs on mine when I ran into a receiver hitch on the back of a pickup truck. The body shop, insurance company and I could not find one in the US, not even a replica. They finally had to put a Terminator bumper on. Bummer.
