How much was a New 03 terminator ?

I bought my cobra used in March of 05 for 28K with 5k miles. I was just wondering how much did you guys pay for your cobra's new? Did the dealerships try to sell them over MSRP? I'm just trying to understand why such a big markup on the new shelby Thanks.

in 03 there was a $3-5K mark up in the begining. i bought mine in 05 as well with 5500 miles for $26,800. the coupes were $34950 and the Verts were like $38995. It's not the same car, I think the build quality on the GT500 is a little better than the 03/04 Cobras.

it's difficult to compare apples to oranges.

Depends when you bought it. If you got one when no body wanted them, you could get them new for around or under 30,000, brand new. Like my 03, it's a black 10th annivarsery, picked it up when it had like 6 miles on it, got it for little under 30,000. That's with out a plan.

I bought my 04 with 11 miles out of the Showroom the MSRP was 36K (EVEN) I traded a 94 GT Vert for 4K and I paid a lil over 27K out the door So I guess 31K minus the trade it.

I wanted one but when I went to the dealer in Baltimore they had a market adjustment of 15K on it bringing it to 50K so I just boat a boat instead and picked one up in March 2005 for 26K.

It mainly depended on WHEN someone bought their car. Here is timeline describing Terminator pricing. For those who weren't around, here's how it all went down...




May 2002: Terminator sales begin!

This was the best Mustang ever. Everybody wanted one. People were on dealer lists and hoped for one at MSRP. Full sticker was the best deal you could hope for. No test drives without a deposit! :nonono:

November 2002: Deals are starting to get better.

6 months have passed and people are now getting deals between invoice and sticker. Full MSRP sales are becoming a thing of the past.

April 2003: The market begins to soften.

One year after it hit the streets, the Terminator market is starting to show signs of weakness. X-Plan and A-Plan deals are becoming fairly common.

September 2003: Prices collapse.

Terminators are sitting on dealer lots collecting dust. The supply of buyers for a $34K+ Mustang has dried up...yet the 2004s will be rolling into showrooms in a couple of months. SVT comes out of nowhere with the first rebates ($2,500) ever offered on a Cobra over Labor Day weekend.

The "$29,000" Terminator coupe was born!!! :bowdown:

Bought mine used with 1800 miles paid $33,000, Mystichrome is expensive! Dealer originally wanted $35,000 still!!! Obviously mines an 04 though.
