How much timing are people seeing on e85

Actually it is you who maybe doesn't quite understand how pcv works. It's an engine vacuum powered system that draws crankcase vapors out for consumption. Thus conditions of high vacuum, like engine braking, dramatically affect how it performs. Having had two of these cars, I find their oil consumption is most affected by how much time they spend at high vacuum and at higher rpm. Both of those are products of manual trans operation.

I thought that engine vacuum pulled the check valve shut, so as not to create a vacuum leak. When there is no vacuum, the valve springs open and relieves pressure(I imagine positive crankcase pressure helps open it up too). Low/No vacuum being WOT, where pressure relief is needed. Amiright?

Yep...conditions of extremely high vacuum or extremely high crankcase pressure (busted rings, etc.) affect how the system performs. It's intended to work in some fairly normal operating ranges, hammering it with excessive high rpm or decel repeatedly, as in a manual trans application works the system very hard and can lead to additional oil entering the intake. The automatic happily keeps the engine in low rpm operating range most of the time and doesn't hold gears outside of sport mode. This is a pretty relaxing environment for PCV to exist in.

I pulled the intake and throttle body off my 14 Auto at 13000 miles and there was no oil in the intake at all just a light film on the back side of the throttle body.

Same experience here. The catch can on my 2012 was regularly filling with several ounces of oily liquid during the course of a oil change interval. The car used on average, a litre and a half to 2 litres per oil change. The 14 auto uses nothing and thus the need for a CC isn't there. The 2012, after three years of bagging on it at the dragstrip and on the street still made maximum allowable compression, exactly equal on all 8 so, it was in no way a worn motor. It did definitely work the PCV system hard going up and down the gearbox every day.

Same here. I removed the driver side fitting and oil poured out...I removed the intake tube and the throttle body is clean. Looked inside the tube, not a hint of oil anywhere. This is only after 1,000 miles.

I'll be installing a JLT catch can later tonight
