How important is Step#2 in Burping The Coolings System?

I'm wondering how important/vital is step#2?:read: Can I successfully burp the system without having to jack the car up?

Reason being, my garage has a slight subltle incline and I have the front end facing down sitting on all wheels, no jackstands.

yup i only had the car on stands when i draind the coolant from the bottom and after hooking up the hoses i put her back down. Then opened up the crossover plug and filled her up

I burped mine successfully... kinda. Lol I added coolant through the crossover tube, and forgot to burp it. While driving, it was fine. Then the air bubble worked itself out and I overheated. I pulled the cap and let the air out. Then I got it to a gas station and put in about 3 bottles of bottled water. Let it idle for a minute and haven't had a problem since. You don't need to jack it up IMO. You'll be fine. Just keep a couple bottles of water handy until you've driven it about 20 miles.

yea i didn't burp mine on jackstand either.. i just filled it until the crossover was full and all the air came bubbling out..
