How do you clean the oxidized parts on a motor. The white chalky residue that comes loose when you brush it with your finger. Is there a cleaner you can spray and pressure wash off that won't damage the wiring and the rubber hoses on a motor? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

use a non-corrosive cleaner like simple green. If you use something corrosive like a wheel acid then the aluminum will turn a darker gray or a milky white color. They have corrosive and non-corrosive wheel cleaner. Eitherway if you wanted to use wheel cleaner it shouldnt damage the wireing/hoses

^^^Agreed with the Simple Green.Don`t use the Purple stuff, that really messes up the aluminum.

Toothbrush and a metal polish. There are so many different brands you should just try what you can get locally.
Costco was dumping the Mothers small polishing ball and a bottle of metal polish for 10 bucks. The stuff worked just fine.
