There also was a safety recall for the IRS knuckles as well. Have a dealer run your VIN for verification.

The chances of the "fix" not being done is very slim. The issue came up when these cars were still under warranty, only a year old. So chances are everyone who owned one was contacted by Ford. I remember reading somewhere when you got the fix, Ford gave you a coat. Not sure if this was true.

the recall also included the steel serp belt tensioner. I did 12 recalls on them 99's and every one had the aluminum tensioner factory, never heard of the acid dipped intake, most I saw had the extrude hone intake but the last few had what we were told was a new cast intake....
