I've always planned on strictly using pump gas but I'm thinking about expanding my options, just for safety sake. I don't have easy access to E85 and I know that running octane boosters every fill up can hurt plugs so I'm wanting to get some insight on "race" fuel.
As of right now I've only got a tune for 93 octane but I'm thinking if I can run 96 octane or something with a race gas mix it would protect from bad gas. I have the stock fuel system with VMP BAP and 56# injectors. Would I need to modify the fuel system at all to be able to run higher octanes?
Side note, I had the car down at OCMD for Cruisin' last week and I filled the car up once down there, about 14 gallons if I remember at the Wawa on Coastal highway, the highest octane they provide lists 92. I was a little concerned about it since the tune is for 93 but tons of other high horsepower cars fill up at that station all the time so it gave me a little peace of mind.
