I haven't seen a recent alternator thread, and while I don't want to be a recycler of sorts, I am asking seasoned Terminator owners for alternator replacement advice.
Killed mine Sunday- I believe it's the OEM original. My car has a CAI , 2.76 pulley, and a tune- stock exhaust.
That's as modified as she'll ever be while in my possession.Stock stereo.
Help!

2.93/4# here with fbo and a subwoofer. Had a 160amp went through that in 5 months, switches to 200amp alt from ebay and seems to be holding up well so far

Way I see it.

If oem lasted this long
A basic replacement should be fine

I didn’t worry and went rebuilt from orielys. Has lifetime replacement

I’ve been ok
During some charging issues I replaced 1 but it wasn’t the cause

Ground wire at motor mount broke

And also found ground from battery to radiator support was burning inside

Replacement wire I noticed better voltage inside car

Was only seeing 13.5 than when hot it bounces 13.

Now it’s mostly 14.1 and may bounce 13.8

If you are replacing it now its best to just replace it with something that will last. J2fab makes great alternators or if you want a more budget friendly option you can opt for Ken Miley Jrs alternator. He sells a 3G alt (200 amp). It fits with little modification.

I'm going to run the 3G this time around. Many have had great success!

Thanks everyone, I think I’m going with a 130 amp replacement , keep my original core and put it on the shelf for now.
It lasted almost 90k and I’m projecting about 2000 miles a year max at this point.
The car gets a WOT in 2nd and 3rd here and there, but mostly it’s breathing easy.
There’s so much info in old threads and opinions etc.. it’s a little overwhelming.
I’m all about quality, but overkill is probably just wasting money.
I appreciate the insight. Thanks again.
