Hi this is my first post ever on any forum. The question I had was I have a 01 cobra that the engine locked up on me today. I have ordered a 03 cobra engine to replace it. I'm wondering if this swap is something me and my dad can do in his shop or is it complicated enough I need to take it to a mechanic. The engine is coming complete with computer, wiring, fuel rails and injectors. Any help would greatly appreciated

Accessories are also different. Truthfully, I think there may be a lot more stuff than just the engine, computer and rails that need changing. Will our current fuel pump handle the load? I'm guessing that the fuel lines may be the same. Might want to look for not just any mechanic but a specialist that knows how to modify these cars with doing a swap of that magnitude.
Something else to consider, the 03 Cobra engine is an iron block. You will be adding a bit of weight to the car with it. Best bet would be to rebuild your original motor and then take the supercharger and accessories off the 03 motor and install them on the rebuilt 01 motor.

Are you going to install a "complete" 03 engine...with supecharger?
