I'm not sure I should be posting here or maybe in the SN95/New Edge. I'm looking at buying a 1993 Cobra that has been built to be a track car (road course). It's a one owner car and he has all the history of his build. Here is what he says is installed for brakes.
Front: 94-04 Cobra spindles and brake package, and brake cooling ducts.
Rear: 94-04 Cobra brakes.
The only wheels he currently has with the car are 95 Cobra R Wheels with 275/40/17 tires (he did a little fender "work").
I'm wondering, what are some good but not overly expensive brakes I could look at to improve the braking of this car? This is one area he admits is kind of a weak link. I'd prefer that whatever brakes I'd get fit under the current wheels but I'd also like to look at a set of lighter wheels for road racing so I would also like any wheel suggestions you might have.
If this deal works out I'm going to be making it even more of a road racer by getting better racing seats, better brakes, extra wheels and some major aero (big wing and a front splitter).
Thanks!
