So one of my good friends has been running E85 in his new setup and it makes over 900rwhp but I pulled the intake today and found the runners all looking like clumpy brown muck! So I have never seen this and the tuner said its the E85! Blaming the whole thing on the gas and the only thing I can maybe guess is the car is too rich possibly but I doubt still it would look like this! Anyone with any ideas. Please chime in!

Every cylinder looks like this!

Both valve covers go to a catch can! The heads were already replaced once because the valve guides were leaking oil into the runners! Now this! The heads are the dart 225cnc heads! The brown stuff is sticky too. Not wet like oil. It could be a mix of oil and the ethanol!

e85 is known to gum up the back of intake valves with a black residue. Those pics look like the typical e85 residue plus PCV residue.

That looks like the E85 black goo. It precipitates at the injectors forward so you won't see it in the fuel filter. It's a result of a reaction with an additive in the low grade fuel that is mixed with the Ethanol. The solution is to run a tank of 93 pump gas every now and then. Better check the injector tips too. Usually they get really gummed up and can cause issues.
