Ordered Kenny Brown IRS control arms yesterday morning. Recieved a call
from Bruce of Heidts Hotrod and Musclecar suspensions. He asked me if I
could wait 4 to 6 weeks until they got their production line going for the Kenny
Brown Cobra IRS control arms. I said sure, I'm not in that big a hurry.
Kenny Brown was there at that time and I spoke with him. He stated that Heidts
was taking over the fabrication of Kenny Brown Cobra IRS control arms.
Thats good news for anyone worried about quality. Heidts has been in the Hotrod suspension and chassis business for over 25 years. They produce very
high quality products. If any one can fabricate suspension parts Heidts can,
they are a class act. I have seen their parts and they are first class. Now I'm
not sure about correcting all of the inherent design problems I have heard some
of you guys talk about, but I'm sure they will be addreesed. Just though I would
throw this out to you all. I know its been said that you hoped someone would
take over the fabrication of the IRS control arms because of quality questions.
Well I can tell you now, there won't be any quality questions with Heidts.

Sorry to start such a controversy, this being my 1st post.
My intension was to post some information that may be of interest
to everyone. I am in no way trying to mislead anyone. Once I receive
the control arms I will post pictures. I was told I would have to wait
4 to 6 weeks while they get their manufacturing line up and running.
I will update everyone as soon as I get any information. I have no idea
if these control arms will be any different, hopefully the quality will be
much greater. Peace:burnout:

PEKStang - this is atypical Mustang forum where you are going to get some hazing for being a newbie, a lot of misinformation from people who are puppets, a bunch of other opinions that don't matter at all, mixed in with some good information and dialogue. It's a forum, and it has it's place. I rarely ever post, but I look at what's going on...

N/Angel - To use the KB IRS lower control arm you do have to switch to the KW Coil-Over. I have been running the KB IRS lower arm and upper arm for about 8 years on my car, but I use the KW V3 coil-over.

Jimmysidecarr and hunterp said it best, it's either BS or not. All I know is if I ever hit the wall or something bad happens it would be nice to know that Kenny Brown has the replacement parts. I've yet to see a live axle car I can't beat in GT3 trim, so I would like to think I can keep my IRS...

Remember - these forums are full of manufacturer zombies, lovers, blow jobbers and the such... SVTPerformance.com tends to be the lesser of the evils without the BS bias.

Rock on!

V3's arent coilovers. They are stock location springs with adjustable perches. So the KB control arms I've seen do not have spring perches so I doubt they will work with the V3 system on 03 Cobras.

The KW V3 coilovers are basically double-adjustable coil-over shocks, AND V3 is available in rear coil-over for the IRS Cobra by special order. It takes a few weeks to make them though. I have an image of the front and rear coil-overs lying on the ground prior to installation, maybe someone can post it if I send the image via email. They are nothing like a traditional Mustang shock and do require you to fabricate the upper shock mount. You will see they look like a BMW shock, but have a KW label that reads Ford Mustang Cobra. Can't find the install pics, but I have gone through 3 computers since then...

Big Daddy and myself are the only people on this forum that have them installed on their Cobra, that I know of. Big Daddy may some some pics and we did our cars around the same time. You could only purchase from KB at the time...

Let's hope they do a better job at fabricating!!
