Can you draw from a holster at your range?

Most ranges around here do not allow it, but I am a member at Dallas Pistol Club which is always on a wait list, sometimes years long, and they do allow just about anything. It is outdoors, and basically when you show up you get your own bay (or wait for one to become available) then setup your targets however you like. You can draw from a holster, shoot on the move in many positions as long as you follow all the basic safety rules the club has in place. It is for pistols only though, so absolutely no rifle calibers at all (except .22 LR).

Now THAT sucks! Time to take it to your range/gun store and have your gunsmith check it, unless you're aiming to do it yourself.
I just got through tearing it down and popped the brass out. It doesn't appear to be damage like I thought. The top right side is an exhaust cut out I assume for pressure. But the feed needs to be cleaned up and polished for sure. It's gotta go somewhere, researching local shops now.

Same. The indoor range/club I’m apart of allows pretty much anything. You have to qualify for it. Draw from holster/concealment drawing and rapid fire. So essentially that’s all i do is run all different types of timed drills from concealment. I started idpa so dry fire combined with hard live fire practice sessions are invaluable. However, the only place i can shoot on the move is about an hour from me so i only get out there 1-2x a month.

So here's something that has never happened to me before. So I took my Beretta 92X to the range today along with the two CZ's. Now, I have never had a single FTF/FTE the entire time of owning this gun and have maybe 1000 rounds through it. Now I admit I made a mistake to a small degree in assuming everything was ok. I took it to a get together where like 10 of us shot most of the day and grilled out about a month ago. I cleaned all my guns since then but didn't get around to the Beretta. If you look at the picture....you might ask how does that happen. Let me tell you. Apparently me or whoever shot my gun last cause I handed it out like horny midget that day didn't notice the FTE. So today when I tried to load a mag FTF. Dropped the mag, racked slide to the rear and noticed the expended casing. I took my small flat tip that I had for adjusting the CZ for the first time and tried to remove it. The back wall of the cartridge separated from the brass casing and fell to the floor. At that point I just put it back in the bag. I'll remove it, expect it and CLEAN it tomorrow. Just LOL.
Hot hand load?

Anything is possible. I bought the ammo in a loose round bag of 500. No issue in any gun till that one round. I'm sending the barrel into Beretta just for inspection and cleaning up. Not sure if it will be covered or not but I'm in no hurry.

I def would not mention the possibility of it being a reload to Beretta. It def would not be covered. You can be truthful and say that you did not reload the ammo, you bought it. :)

Should be easy to buy a new barrel on that Beretta (I would think) if it comes to it
Looks like a case-head separation.

In other news, picked up a Staccato XC to go along with my P. I have a Dawson plate, Trijicon SRO, and Surefire X300 coming in for it as well.

He broseph, question for you…. With your staccatos, do you have any ”irritation” on your strong hand middle finger, as you grip the gun… possibly with the area where the mag release is (but opposite side)?

for me, there seems to be a bit of a “sharp” edge there…. And it pinches ever so slightly under recoil

Great guns, btw. Man of great taste.

After a lot of debate and putting a few more rounds down range, i ended up walking out buying a new Staccato P that was configured the way i would have wanted if i were to order directly from Staccato. Carbon Steel frame, Optic Cut, DLC barrel, 3.5lb trigger option and the “new” Tac Texture. I originally wanted a C2 to do local IDPA and possibly jump into USPSA as well as EDC. The P will serve the first two needs well and OWB carry if needed. While i love the C2, i just don’t know how much i will carry it for various reasons at this point.

With that being said, i may still end up with a C2 (or the new C) next year. I always intend to get a P at some point regardless and hopefully a platypus in .45 as well.

Anyway, P is definitely awesome. Fit/finish and overall build quality is absolutely fantastic, butter smooth slide and the 3.5lb trigger is wonderful. Very crisp. It obviously wasn’t cheap but overall 10/10. For optic, most likely going with the Trijicon SRO again however i might take a firm look at 507c and 507Comp.

Im kidding bro… Holosun has great stuff. Its actually quality stuff just at a more budget friendly price. But for a staccat, I would for sure go SRO….

I haven't, however I hold the pistol my moliddle finger doesn't ride that little spot.

It is sharp, I agree.
